About 2 weeks ago we took Evan to the Zoo, he had a lot of fun, and then crashed asleep. It went pretty well with the exception of a peacock screeching...that scared his pants off, but he's definitely not afraid of animals.
Had to watch the quick hands so he wouldn't bang on the grouse cage.
He thought the llama was funny. Thankfully the nice llama didn't spit!
The donkey wasn't as interested in him, he was just there for the food.
There was a park in the zoo, this was Evan's first time in a swing, he LOVED it.
Also his first time down the slide, a hit as well.
Birds have arrived in our yard...check out this woodpecker! We also have a ton of hummingbirds who buzz by while we're hanging up laundry on the line, and hanging out outside. Its funny to watch these little birds fight over their precious sugar water, which we fill regularly. One little guy will sit on the close line next to the feeder, and when another bird comes to eat, he promptly chases it away, even though he's not eating, guess they're not as Innocent as they look!
We took a trip to the vet, and this is what Maggie looked like after receiving her shots.
It's maybe somewhat wrong to laugh at her, but it is kinda funny. We knew she's had an allergic reaction in the past, so the vet left out the most common cause of the reactions, and gave her a shot of epinephrine when he gave her her vaccines, and she still did this, needed an antihistamine shot.
She's ok now. She also had some dental work done, her puppy teeth hadn't fallen out yet, and were VERY close to the adult ones and causing some serious plaque, and bad breath, poor Maggie.
Evan is now pulling himself up onto things, and walking better next to them. He's crawling quickly, and got his first goose egg on his head today when he tried to crawl over a couch cushion on the floor we've been using as a baby block, you can see it in the hallway in this next picture. He's using his new walker that he can just push....looks happy with his independence doesn't he!
Other news: Evan's puking is MUCH less since we've switched him to a new formula Pregestimil. We're giving him 4oz formula with 3oz breast milk, just increased him to 7oz bottles today, AND...he's not puking. Small spit ups when he gets too big of a piece of food for his liking in his mouth. One of the really cool things that he does now is BURP. Yes you heard me right. Evan is burping without milk coming up with it. Stephan and I almost stare at him in amazement. I can't remember the last time that's happened. We keep getting comments on how he's looking like he's feeling better, and he's looking healthier. FINALLY a formula that isn't making him worse, and even better, it seems to be helping. It seems to be getting harder for him to puke. Just tonight he started gagging and retching when we were laying him down to bed, a few big burps came up, but NO PUKE!!! he had eaten 1 1/2 hours before this fit, this is unheard of. Stephan was sure he was going to get covered, but he was pleasantly surprised with dryness.
