Watch me play!!

Evan was playing with the toys on his exersaucer and we thought it was AWESOME. Thought we'd share. Saw his pediatrician on tuesday. He's up to 12 lbs 5 ounces.. his doctor told me he's finally pudging up. I'm sitting here trying to think of something to type about Becky and me, but I'm realizing I'm quite the boring character nowadays. My biggest claim to fame lately is I can change Evan's diaper in under a minute and beat the bottle warmer. Man that's a hit with the ladies if you're in need of a pick up line guys.

Changing pad chatterbox

Becky and I thought we'd share this video of Evan telling us a little story. We were a little dissapointed that he didn't talk more on camera, but he seems to be camera shy. Usually he starts really chattering like a monkey in a tree when he gets on the changing pad. Hope you guys find it as cute as we do.

Time to eat!!

No he is not eating solids yet, Evan was practicing holding his spoon today.. well it was just one of the many different size and shape objects we've been having him hold. He seems to really like the spoon on his face. We had his follow up clinic appointment yesterday and it went really well. We found out that Evan is around the 10th percentile for length and weight, but his head circumference is in the 60th percentile. Our neonatologist assured us that big heads mean big brains. Of course this is no shock to Becky or me because we think Evan is a genius. Lately Evan has been becoming more and more of a chatterbox and has begun mimicing us a little. It's really funny to walk in on us I bet..I'm sticking my tounge out at Evan and making faces and he sticks his tounge out a little...I go bonkers happy and we both laugh. The other day Becky was making a goofy face at Evan and he was laughing at her...she couldn't keep a goofy face and she started laughing. Becky and I are doing well also. Since Evan got his NG the pressure to feed him has been lifted and he seems to be growing much better. The thrush/reflux combo made him very very difficult when it came to feeding and led to many many sleepless nights. After a traumatic event with a bottle and a radiologist Evan called it quits with the bottle and we've been coaxing him to eat with it since...pulling a fast one on him and sticking whatever he doesn't eat by mouth down the tube. He has been increasing the amount of food he's been eating by mouth a little at a time and is making good progress. Right now he has hit a bump in the road called thrush again. He's not feeling the greatest with the fluconozole and thrush so he hasn't really felt like being adventurous with the bottle. He now weighs in at a whopping 12 pounds. He's gotten much better with his head control and let's us know that we need to give him time to practice his head control on his own. Well, we'll post again soon. Take care all.

Welcome

Well, Becky and I kind of got addicted to having a blog type webpage and we didn't feel it was quite right to keep using the caringbridge webiste, sooooo, voila.

As for the new news, Becky Evan and I are doing great. We have decided that it bothers Evan that he is not more independent. He is happiest when he can play with his toys without us holding them, without us holding his head, and he also seems to get frustrated that he can't quite coordiante his hands well enough. My parents have reminded me that in my baby book there are lots of entries such as "Stephan will be happier when he can crawl". I also happen to think Becky could be ridiculously independent when the scene permits. That being said, I think we're in for an interesting time. Will post some pictures soon, We've got a lot of good ones lately. Grandma and Grandpa gorny are fabulous photographers and their fees are reasonable (each picture costs holding evan for a little while). Well I'll update again soon. Take care all.
